1915 Valencia Orange Show
I really enjoyed the farm and nursery expo put on by the San Diego Farm Bureau yesterday. There were great vendors, fantastic information, and wonderful seminars. It reminded me that events such as that happened all the time in agricultural California of yesteryear. Frank Kimball the founder of National City was always holding fruit exhibitions, and there were groups everywhere propounding their particular fruit tree or farming product. The vintage photo of the day is from Orange County from around 1915, a post card celebrating the Valencia Orange Show held where else but Orange county. Imagine a whole expo just celebrating the Valencia. You should plant one.
